I want to purchase a good Canon (Speedlite) flash for my granddaughter's Canon EOS R7 camera. Looking to pay less than $100 for TTL ability. Need not be a true Canon flash. TYIA!

I would check out B&H Photo/Video or Adorama for a good selection to choose from. You’ll definitely find what you need from one of these two stores. They give wonderful descriptions of the product and be sure to read the reviews from users who purchased them.

Thanks, but, I wouldn't know a good flash from a poor flash. Am looking for a recommendation of a good flash to consider buying.

It's a Canon. Made for Canon cameras.
it was the second most powerful in the EX line. This is a great, not just a good flash. It can be had for under $100.
You have nothing to worry about it if is in perfect working condition (no issues). If you can trust buying a Canon camera, you should trust their flashes. They are not some third party flashes where you have to worry about compatibility.
And, I'm a Nikon guy. So, this is not coming from a fan boy.

Places you could do additional self-guided research on any suggestion include the-digital-picture.com and kenrockwell.com.
Something that might be harder to find is compatibility issues of Canon's newest mirrorless models. The 550EX mentioned above can attach directly to the EOS R7, something more advanced models are identified as incompatible in the EOS R7 Advanced User Guide.
The 550EX isn't the top line, but certainly a fine flash for a multitude of needs, aka 'good'. We're unsure of your family member's needs. Something like the Canon EL-100 flash would be an excellent replacement for a 'pop-up' flash found on lower-end cameras. This flash fills many needs, but will perform best as a fill-flash, again like a pop-up flash on other models. It's even better than a pop-up, as the EL-100 can be used as a bounce -- off the ceiling, or wall by rotating the flash head.
Newest models like the Canon EL-5 would go beyond a 'good' rating to near 'best', filling all flash needs, including operating off-camera under remote control by the EOS R7.

This is a good flash. No longer top of the line, and newer flashes have more bells and whistles, but this one would be perfectly adequate for all around use and at a very reasonable price.

Especially the OP wanted for less than $100.

I was thinking he was asking $50. I didn't go back to his post to look.
