I think that's one of the problems with the composition as given. The lean suggests more room on the right but the leaves of the rose are mostly on the left, so when you add space to the right it looks unbalanced.....
....unless you get rid of the lean. Then you can crop for the blossom, stem and leaves.

Attached is a JPG of an otherwise undeveloped RAW (nothing spectacular).
Also attached is an edited version cropped (perhaps edited too harshly).
I accept that you might improve the edit, but how would you crop the pic?
I think you'll get as many opinions as there are examples.
I chose to rotate the flower onto the diagonal and crop to a 4:5 aspect ratio.
i agree with CliffMcKenzie:
""A little off the top. Right side is good. Left side, the crop is too tight, widen ever so slightly and remove from the bottom left corner a leaf just starting to appear. Also study the stem after the initial leaves (going bottom up - left side). The greens are strong & dark, you might play with this and also try boosting the flower (only) saturation entirely or just pink\red.""
On the first photo, towards the top left there is a distraction. The cropped image doesn't have it, thus, I like number two much better. The rose is the center of attention.
Unless you're attracted to a " square " format, I wouldn't take the cropping any further than you have....but to take it that far is imperative. Everything in that initial image, excepting the flower itself, is extraneous.

Sorry to hear that you are unwell - you could do with a lap-top and a mobile broadband.
Yup. I have lap top. I had my wife bring it to me but it's so slow it takes 5 minutes just to boot up so I told her to take it home I'm buying a new one and I looked around and MSI has a great machine $500 off driving it to 1300 plus a few. So I looked around shopped around several people had it the same price as MSI including Costco so I bought it she brought it to me it's a little hairy and I like but that's okay I want the power not to wait. I got it set up here in the hospital in about 45 minutes had it restore from the same from the backup of my desktop I don't know I've never done that I don't know how to work but anyway it's it's too heavy and awkward for me to use right now and tied down to a bed I told her to take it home I'll finish it when I get there. I'm in the hospital 180 MI from home and my wife is coming back and forth she comes up and spends 3 or 4 days here and it goes home for 2 or three to get things done there and then comes back.

I don't know if I like Windows 11 I might have to learn how to get around in it so far I love this machine will find out when I get home and start editing some photos it's got enough power to do it.
