Neat to watch wild turkeys! We have seen a flock's of turkeys in the Smokey's, somewhere in New Mexico, and near my home in Arkansas. They are fascinating, and beautiful!

Here in New Hampshire, out turkey population was about zero forty years ago. After a few importations (from New Jersey and, I think, Tennessee) we have close to 45-50,000, and an annual “harvest” of about 6,000 by hunters.

Those birds are prolific - and smart. I understand why Benjamin Franklin wanted to make them the National Bird!

Have a ton of them here on the property...and yes they know when it is hunting season.

Don't let anyone offer you the leg of a wild turkey...like leather.

You basically only get good breast meat from them...and a good stew base.

Good set Walt. That cock was putting on quite a display.
