These are in Kenya. in Amboseli there is a preserve area you pay more to go in but you can get out of the vehicle in that area. If these elephants decided to charge there would be no getting in a vehicle to get away. We stay close to the vehicle and the elephants usually just ignore you! In the Masai Mara you can not get out of the vehicle except in designated breakfast areas. A tree is a designated spot!!! Since you can’t get out to get a lower more eye level shot they have made the lay flat door you see to get lower. About the only animal they say get up from the door is a young male lion. They are very curious and while not coming to hurt you, may if they walk right up to you reach up, like any cat, to paw at you and it could become a bad thing!!
