Took a small hike at Lums Pond in N Delaware yesterday.

Connected with Ruby Crowned Kinglets right off the bat.
Because we were doing a trail vs sitting for birds I did not have the tripod/flash rig with me.
It would have been helpful, maybe.
These little birds hardly ever sit still, even sitting still they arr moving. Out of 128 images I have maybe 6 worth working with. I think these were the best.

Outstanding, Bill. I usually have about the same keeper ratio on small birds as you had on these.

Beautiful set Bill. Don't often the little tuft of feathers that give this bird its name

First time I seen/photographed these, I thought it was an injured Vero or such. Also thought they were playing around moving so much until I seen one about to swallow something flying in a photo. Also noticed they are not shy when it comes to people. Nice Photos.

They do move about a great deal.
It used to really bother me that sometimes I had such a low persenyage of keepers.
Then I began thinking of all the variables that must line up exactly for a clean image.
Than I began to really appreciate the 10-20% that are usable. Then I realized I was going to delete all but a couple anyway.
Now I am becomming pleased with bringing home one or 2 Good images of a subject.
