California Nebula, NGC1499 1000 L.Y. in the constellation Perseus. A very satisfying target, since the time change, I can capture a lot more data.

Wonderful.
What kind of gear are you using to capture such an image? How many exposures, total exposure time? I just recently started dabbling with astro photography, small dabbling. These photos amaze me

Here is the rig:

Williams Optics RedCat51, a 250mm f/4.9 telescope
ZWO ASI533MC Pro cooled color camera with 1" square, 9 Mp Sony color sensor.
Optolong L-Extreme light pollution filter that only passes Hydrogen and Oxygen wavelengths.
Sky-Watcher EQM-35 German Equatorial Mount that tracks what I target
ZWO ASI AIR Plus is a Raspberry Pi computer that controls the camera, mount, and the ZWO electronic focuser

The images were built from 60 ea 180-second exposures, which works well with a bright object like NGC1499.
Images were stacked and processed in Pixinsight and finished in Lightroom Classic. Oh, and I do this from my backyard in Los Angeles, California, the most light-polluted city in the US.

I have been doing this for 1½ years, and believe me, this is the most complex photography I have ever done. I look back to the images I processed then and cringe. You can do credible astrophotography with a DSLR or mirrorless system and a fast 200 mm lens.
