Same thing...thanks for taking up the cause.

You are mistaken in some respects:

A. Politeness is not the same as kindness. The two terms do not equate.

B. I am certainly NOT “taking up the cause” of regurgitating a trite phrase (“Be Kind”) instead of demonstrating a willingness to offer substantive solutions.

The attempt to force a meme of “universal-kindness” fails on both logical and philosophical means.

Agreed! People are Not discussing the Original Topic. This whole discussion needs to be in the Attic!

Just stop watching it.

Moving it to The Attic will accomplish what?

Yes. One of my goals is being a good traveler. Too many tourists behave badly.

I think that the pictures I get are better because my subjects don't react to the camera. So, yes, small, but capable cameras have produced better travel images for me.

My first capable small camera was the original Sony RX100. I've upgraded to the VII version. In between I used a Panasonic LX100, now discontinued.

👍👍👍

Does it really matter what one uses as long as it serves that person’s needs?

So now we're going to debate the difference between being kind and being polite... kinda like separating fly crap from ground pepper. Is BE KIND any more trite than BE POLITE?

I understand that some find my message difficult to comprehend and some members bring out the worst in me but they do need a taste of their own medicine.

I hope I don't ruin your day but... BE KIND.

Being polite is always important, and those who are impolite should be ‘called out’.

It depends on when you are talking about. As nearly as I can tell, Admin works business hours. He will eventually get around to a complaint, but probably not until some time on Monday.

I NEVER go to the attic so OK! Until then my message remains...BE KIND.

Let's gather printed photographs from all brands and varieties of image making devices and scatter them on a table. Now let's pick out the ones made by the real photographers. No doubt there are those in this forum who would predict a hundred percent success rate for themselves. I doubt if I would do very well. I think we're all photographers who use different tools and methods to harvest images. Some of us enjoy using big old cameras; others not so much.
