Well Frank since that is already in law, felons can not legally own firearms and in many states we have Red Flag laws... should have them in all states, I would be on board with some exceptions, non-violent felons should be able to appeal, I know someone who sold drugs to an undercover agent when he was still a minor who straightened his life out and is now an upstanding member of his community however he was not charged until he reached an age of majority and now as a convicted felon it is illegal for him to own hunting rifles.

You might also understand that the first amendment is not just about the government although that was part of it it is also about the right of self-defense which is a natural right.

Every time I see these arguments I shake my head and wonder what is inside the head of the utterer. Your abbreviated list does not include drugs (overdoses), food (gross obesity) or di-hydrogen-oxide (drowning). Heck, even being born and aging result in a 100% guarantee of death.

A rational person understands that ALL of those other causes of death are an abuse of a tool or device whose primary purpose is something other than killing. But unless you include target shooting or plinking beer cans off a fence rail, the PRIMARY PURPOSE OF A FIREARM IS KILLING.

If you don’t understand the difference you are a BIG part of the problem.

And for those who insist on target shooting, try a high quality firearm simulator. It has the weight, trigger pull characteristics and recoil of the real weapon, but it shoots photons instead of bullets.

You forgot to express an opinion regarding the FACT that it takes a sick person to use the firearm to kill someone (war excluded). Your failure to understand that is also a big part of the problem.

No, what I understand is that the easy access to a firearm enables that sick person to commit the killing act from a standoff distance. Not so easy with a knife, bat, axe or fist.

they could fit right in in Boulder...We have a son in Louisville.so far he remains relatively sane..The square in Boulder is better people watching place than airports...what a frickin zoo
