At my age (89)I feel that I'm entitled to an occasional unintended typo. As a retired printer who worked for a major newspaper all of his life no one is bothered more by many typos than I am . . . but please folks . . . "give me a break".

I sent an email to a friend, and I made a typo. I typed "your" instead of "you." He pointed that out, so I replied.

"I put two typos into emails I send to my smart friends. I'm glad you found the easy one."

I don't think anyone will ever be much of a challenge.

What are your feeling about alternate spellings that not everyone knows or uses like "Lense" or "Lens"? The one with the "e" at the end looks like German or French to me.

Shortened version of "acoarst". Easier to type on a phone or tablet.

Oddly enough (or maybe not so odd) Googling "define acoarst" gives as its first result a link to UHH where this nonsense was discussed: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-682642-3.html

There are very few legitimate alternate spellings. "Oh, well, that's the way I spell it."

Lens or lense UK
Since many common nouns are made plural by adding an "s" to the end of the singular form, people sometimes incorrectly assume that the word lenses is formed by adding an "s" to lense. However, lense is not a word in American English or U.K. English (or any other language). The correct singular term is the word lens.
