Gotta love black & whites! The challenge for me comes when the contrast is so high.
My assignment was to shoot for high contrast that day (a small flickr group that has weekly themes). But your observation speaks to the need to work with the conditions rather than fight them

The simplicity of #3 appeals to me. Having only one point of interest is nice.
Thanks, Kathy! You are spot-on. I try to be aware of my tendency to include so much that the story is muddied.

Well done set Linda. I like the crop on 2,3. I really like the last one.
Thank you very much, Jack. I've decided that will be one of the three I'm allowed to post for the "high contrast" assignment.

It is all about the light fixtures, gooseneck sundials. The world turns, time travels....forward or reverse, 2 or 3. I'm sending you a new bumper sticker: I Brake for Shadows!
LOL, maybe a large banner for the back window instead?

Thanks so much for your visit, Phil.

I like #3. But am also wondering what the shot would be like of the back window of the car with the light shadows reflected....

Oh, good eye! I pulled up the raw again, but it's such a teensy part of the file, and the angle is bad, so no good for processing. An excellent reason to work the scene (next time)!

Thanks very much for your time and interest, Bruce.

Sorry, Linda, but I love them all. I’d hang each if them on my walls!

My pick is #3. It's an interesting abstract.

All three are great for different reasons. I hate when I'm so indecisive, which is most of the time.
