Do you believe a higher power created the universe, or do you believe in just the Big Bang?

It's not that simple, everyone's soul will spend eternity in heaven ( a wonderful happy place) if you have accepted Christ as your savior and asked him to forgive you for your sins which he will do if asked. or otherwise, your soal will spend eternity in Hell ever-burning in fire and brimstone where you will spend eternity to burn and not be consumed without relief.

What happens when we finally discover that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe and we make contact. Are they not also children of a universal God. What happens to their souls if Christ is limited to earth. Do they have their own Christ. Scientific theories have to be updated and modified from time to time. Perhaps religions will have to be also.

Oh my gosh dude, what were thinking when you posted a topic like this ? This is UHH, 8 PAGES !
this stuff will go on and on, as I told Jerry on his stupid post about flat earth and moon landing, this is a issue NOBODY can answer, but hey ! this is UHH and opinions freely flow. It is entertainment to me for the most part.
bruce.

Actually, as with many questions, it's a matter of people accepting or rejecting the answers no matter how logical or sensible they may be.

You are so right brother, so right. Some have their head in a boxed belief and cannot think outside it regardless.

And what are the “logical and sensible” answers to the questions asked by the OP?

I previously noted that nobody does, only opinions, speculations, theories which change over time, no body knows !

And, as any question with no provable answer, there will continue to be many opinions.

Entertainment. Yes. But maybe, just maybe, one will get you in the gut and make you look deeper into yourself.

Ephesians 2:8 tells us that faith is a gift of God. In other words, the answer to this question will not come merely through logic or reasoning, but only after God Himself has worked within us to bring us to belief. When He does, faith is irresistible (cf. Calvin).

Circular logic...isn't logic.

I don't see that. What Paul is telling us is that faith is not something that comes from within ourselves. We do not have faith because we "choose" to believe. We have faith because God (through the Holy Spirit) testifies within us as to sin, righteousness and judgment and to the veracity of the Gospel. Paul is saying that our faith is indeed entirely a work of God. If one understands completely the passage of Ephesians 2:8-10, not only is our faith the work of God, but God promised in v. 10 that He would work through us as believers. Those works, too, are not our works, but works done by God as we live out Godly lives. I had the good fortune as a young believer of telling my parents about my salvation. Years later I learned from a third party that they were a bit offended, because they had always believe in God and gone to Church. It did get them thinking, however. Eventually, they started to come to the Baptist Church with me and both made confessions of faith in Christ as their Savior. It is a fantastic example of Ephesians 2:8-10. God worked in me to give me faith. He then fulled his promise in v. 10 when he worked through me to do His work in my parents.

I don't see that. What Paul is telling us is that... (show quote)

You take things at face value...I'm a bit more careful than that.

No book can prove itself...the Bible is as much a book of non fiction as...'Gone With The Wind'.
Fictional stories taking place in actual locations.

Faith is not a virtue...that's the first huge lie...once that pill is swallowed...the rest of the indoctrination gets easier.
