Time magazine twenty years ago was worth the price of the subscription. Today it's just another super market tabloid to be read while your waiting to check out

This is a typical "Kill the messenger" reply, and not adding to the above conversation!

In this case however Time Magazine isn't the messenger. They name the Sony cameras as best inventions. They didn't simply report the news.

Time currently has 1.3 million print subscribers and 250,000 digital subscribers.[26]

So what the magazine has to say is far more significant than the fuming of a few curmudgeons here on UHH!

Also what credibility do they have regarding the camera industry.
Even if they chose Leica, Nikon or Canon their proclamation would be sketchy at best.

There is a new movie out about Ferrari. I drive a Ford GT, so it has nothing to do with me, I hate Ferrari and refuse to see the movie.

As of 2017 Time had over 3 million subscriptions now down by 2 million.
Real credibility for such a miniscule subscriber base compared to the past.

I take anything Time says with a grain of salt, or less.

Learn the truth from the industry's best, not from the usual UHH fanboys' rants, LOL. .

TIPA World Awards 2023:
BEST FULL FRAME PROFESSIONAL CAMERA
Sony Alpha 7R V
https://www.tipa.com/awards/sony-alpha-7r-v/
"TIPA editors were unanimous in their choice of the Alpha 7R V as a highly impressive, responsive, and flexible camera that raises the bar on features and functions for working pro photographers. It offers a 61MP full frame sensor, 8K video recording, and an 8-stop image stabilization system, plus it offers unprecedented accuracy and speed in tracking and predicting a host of subject’s movement with its advanced AI-powered autofocus system. Thanks to its Exmor R BSI and BIONZ XR Processor, the Alpha 7R V features a remarkable 15-stop dynamic range and expanded low-light capability. When the action is fast and split moment shots are crucial, photographers can make good use of the ability to capture 10 fps at full resolution for up to 583 consecutive compressed RAW frames – with full-time AE/AF – and, in JPEG capture, an incredible 1000 consecutive frames in a single burst."

Japanese Grand Prix award: The Sony A7rV Camera of the Year:
The 2023 camera of the year award did go to the Sony A7rV for the following reason:

"The latest generation of the “R” series, which enables high-definition shooting even among Sony’s α7 series, adopts a class-leading effective 61 million-pixel CMOS sensor. It has received praise for significantly improving basic performance, such as autofocus performance and color reproduction, through the newly introduced “AI processing unit” and enhancing the image stabilization mechanism, making it easier to demonstrate the potential of a high-resolution camera in a wide range of shooting scenes. Additionally, comments have been received that the adoption of a 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor that supports both tilt and vari-angle on the back of the camera has presented a new standard that meets the requirements of both still images and videos."

DPReview Awards 2022:
Sony Alpha 7R V
Winner - Best High-End Camera
"“The end result is a very capable, adaptable stills camera for portraits and landscapes. We love its flexible flip screen, human detection capabilities, and impressively detailed RAW files. It might not be a hybrid video powerhouse (rolling shutter remains a nagging issue), but on the whole we're very impressed – enough to name the A7R V as our high-end camera of the year.”

Cheers and best to you all, whatever camera brand you use.

The popularity of traditional and especially print media is in decline as society transitions into the digital age, so the reduced circulation number says nothing meaningful about Time's journalistic credibility. But it's safe to say more people still rely on Time than UHH.
