It's a fairyland! And I love the dragon. Lucky you to have a copy!
Actually, you've earned it for bringing all your wonderful pictures to us!

My first reaction was that this place is really odd...to an extreme. But once you get in sync with where Gaudi's head was, your appreciation for his work swells quite a bit.

Is your model dragon, ostensibly, a close copy of the original or does it exhibit different design work in the application of the tile pieces?

Hi Tom. My dragon is not only a close copy of the original, it is actually made from the same casting the original model was made from. The tiles as well, are from the original batch of tiles that Gaudi used in the park. The only difference is that, because of the massive difference in size, the tiles on my model are proportionately much larger than the tiles of the park's statue, hence the resulting mosaic is not nearly as intricate.

That is certainly the truth. Anything Gaudi related would be. Please check out my next post which will be coming fairly soon.

If you look at my response to Black Mamba below, you will see a photo of our dragon as it sits on the coffee table in our living room.

You'll have to go to Barcelona and hope they still have them. Those original tiles are a finite resource. Or maybe on eBay.

If your dragon ever tires of the cold North, let him ( I assume all dragons are male ) know he will be most welcome in Jacksonville.
