Thanks, Don.
I appreciate your support.
They only painted the sides And front as this is what people would see from the road . Done to save money . I am from N.C. and money was not plentiful in those days . The road is on the other side of the white fence .

I'll buy that explanation. But that is not a conclusion I would have come to on my own. I have a friend who has been watching the place for me. All of the goodies I wanted to shoot in that adjoining field have been hauled off. He said that there were still a few pieces in the area right behind the barn. I saw them when I was there but there was nothing of a real interest to me in that group.
I appreciate your comments and info.

Well done!! The find, the shot and the story about the “field of dreams”!! I’ll be waiting for those sets of the rest of the graveyard, Tom!!
black mamba . There is another good shot across the parking lot----- behind the other old barn . There is an old disk that is covered by weeds . You really have to look for it . Hopefully no one has moved it . You can get it in the foreground and the barn up the valley in the background . Good luck .

Unfortunately, it looks like my " field of dreams " is gone. When I was there , shooting the barn, the owner told me at that time that he had sold all of the goodies in that field and wasn't sure when the buyer would come and haul them off. I have a friend that lives in the area and he was going to let me know when he saw any activity going on in that field. When he got back to his home at noon the next day, everything was gone. His wife told him that two large flat bed trucks and a small crane showed up, and that they were in and out of that field in less than two hours. Talk about being disappointed !!!

That's a shame but not surprising I suppose. Glad you got the shot you did and shared it, thanks again!
You have to be my age(77) or older, or an avid afficiianado to know what that old piece of farm equipment is. I know, does anyone else?

I'm out of my element here but, because of those blades at the rear that can be lowered, I'm guessing it was used to dig up potatoes, carrots, or something that had to be dug up.
I won't drag this on any. It is a manure spreader. There is a sort of a conveyor on the bottom of the bed of the wagon that carried the manure to the back where the blades you see scattered it as the spreader was pulled across the field.

That's very interesting. I appreciate the enlightenment.
