That nose ring/plate in the last photo looks too heavy for comfort.
Many of their expressions appear quite somber for such a happy event. Perhaps it is because they were conscious of the photographer? Quite a few also appear to be older than I would have expected at a “mating” ceremony.
Overall, a very interesting series.
