AI Alert

All images from MidJourney. This is my first real attempt with Generative Expand and Generative Fill in Photoshop.

I expanded the original image from an 8x8 square format to an 8x13 image. Used Generative Fill to create the foreground rocks. Placed man and ship as separate images.

You are getting your money's worth with that software! It's great to see you enjoying your new toys this much.

I believe there's a problem with the ship's scale. Did you try setting it on the horizon line? Maybe there needs to be more water to show the distance? Some day I may attempt to learn the answers to the perspective questions

Thanks Linda. I have no concept of spatial relationship or perspective. I was required to take an art class in the 7th grade and one of our first projects was to draw railroad tracks disappearing over the horizon. I, of course, drew two parallel lines. My explanation: they couldn't converge or the train would fall off the tracks. Absolutely true story

So you made it smaller and moved it back, making it seem to me to be an almost insignificant detail. What would you think, Linda, about reversing your approach, and enlarging the ship somewhat and leaving it where it was, and making it part of the "story," so to speak?

I did try that. Works well IMO, but it's Curmudgeon's story, not mine

Nice, Jack. That 2nd perspective is much better.

I’m always getting hammered on scale Jack! Your turn this time, it just doesn’t look right! The rest of the image is very nice, although personally I’d do something else for the ‘woodwork’. Great subject choice
Edit: and lighting and drama!

Oh well, at least people are looking. I found a tutorial on perspective I'm going to look at and see if it helps. I thought about removing the rest of the wood but decided to leave it. I think that was the wrong decision too.
