I agree Jerry. I am on other forums as well, but this one is the only one that I can understand why a beginner or a novice would be hesitant to ask for advice or venture an opinion fearing a nasty snarky reply that can border on cruelty.

"Provoked" Funny.
"Mommy, what's that man holding?"
"He's holding a camera, Billy. Stay away from him!"

I agree with your assessment Rodeo Man. Seems like the same ones offering snarky responses and nothing but.
That’s because you keep stepping in front of them just as they are getting ready to take their picture, and you stop to take a picture and the talk to someone and take your time getting out of their shot. You never looked to see if anyone was taking that shot that you just stepped in front to grab the shot they setup and then you took all day getting out out their way, even after they explain to you nicely that you were in there shot. I don,t blame them for being a little testy.

I wasn’t going to weigh in on this topic, but I decided against better judgement.
While I have enjoyed this forum, made friends here and learned a lot. I have always tried to be kind and supportive. What surprises me is the occasional aggressive, condescending and nasty comments from a few people. I find it uncalled for and harms the sense of a kind and caring community.
When I see those occasional responses, I am embarrassed for the poster and wish that they had not said anything at all.
There is no need to be condescending and nasty. Fortunately, it is rare and not the norm.

I think it's supposed to work the other way around. I don't expect people to make an exception for me. I wait until I have a clear shot, or I try a different angle.
There are horrible people everywhere. I had some poor students who thought I was one of them; they couldn't handle the truth.

No one can handle truth they don't like.
