Why do you say that?

My son became septic from head to toe in 2020. He was in ICU for nearly two months. At the end of that time they discovered infection around his aortic valve that they said was inoperable. However, a surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic said the he could do the surgery and replace his aortic valve after scraping out the infection. So, he was flown by air ambulance from Dallas to Cleveland. We were fortunate to find an air ambulance company that would not charge us any more than what insurance would pay them. My son's total deductible was $4500 on a $650,000 bill (after initial charges were lowered). He's alive today because of medicine and health insurance. So why do you say health insurance is broken?

Go and read his response again, nowhere did he say Health Insurance is broken. If you look at other countries in Europe and the UK, you will see that no other countries have the exorbitant charge for health care, that you find in the USA. How do you suppose these other countries can do it for so little cost, compared to America, hmmm? Doesn't that make you wonder, even a little bit? Someone is screwing someone. Of course, if you've never been outside of the USA, then you would never know these facts.

That must be a typo. You probably meant to say the Big Bucks Medical Industry.

I'm super glad you are happy with your healthcare system. I'm not sure how much like Canada's it is but if it's like Canada's I'll pass. Best of luck in all you do.

Sure - I've heard horror stories about patients trying to get kidney transplants in the UK.

Nearly 60 days in ICU can run charges up pretty quickly, especially when they were pumping him with all kinds of antibiotics and he was on dialysis 4 times a week. The first ten days he was sedated and on a ventilator. You have no idea what it took to save his life. I'm gonna leave it at that.

I would imagine every healthcare system in the world has Its 'horror' stories, but I am 74 and have nothing but praise for our NHS system, even though in the last 13 years it has been roughly handled by the present Conservative government.
