I’ve been doing it for over six decades.

I understand exactly what I said. Have you ever heard of sarcasm?

Did you teach your grandmother to suck eggs?

The real beauty of digital imagery is I have nothing to lose by taking an image even if it sucks. If I decide not to keep it, no waste but in infinitesimal amount of battery power and the personal reflection upon the idea if it sucks it’s probably not good in B&W, nor in color. Sorry if that’s not worth anything to you.

A little color can add interest to an image.

But if the colors in the scene are dull and don't do anything for the image there might be something else that's more important like shapes, tones and composition.

Ralph Gibson is best known for his B&W images although he has done some color work.

Even Ansel Adams did a little work in color but people were more interested in his B&W work.

I like the first and second in b&w; the third, not so much. (P.S.--I do a lot of b&w, too.)

I agree.

The third one was more of an exercise in not blowing the highlights and still having something left to make an image. With the sun in my eyes I could not make out much in the way of colors that would have helped.

This one is not any better but it shows what I was facing.
