I have found that I have a strong effect on the stock market. Whenever I buy something the price goes down. Whenever I sell something the price goes up.

Join the club. I sold Microsoft at $50! Could be worse. I wanted 1000 Microsoft for my Keogh plan, told my broker to get it in the IPO which I had expected to come out at $17, but he called and said it would be $20 and I passed. I try to remember that every time I start thinking I'm smart.

Yup. Hindsight is always 20-20!

Have looked at IPOs several times. They always start higher than expected. They then go up significantly. They then go down below the expected starting price.
Haven't looked at enough to gather good statistics. If they always did that I'd be getting in at the start and then dumping at the peak. I'd be rich. But probably if I did that I would have picked the exception to the rule.

At my age I am done with investing. Fidelity is taking good care of my wife and myself. I did take a flyer on Monogram Orthopaedics awhile back as they have an interesting application for joint replacements. They are now on NASDAQ.
