Has anyone found a quality book for Affinity Photo? If so, can you share the name please?

Thanks,
Bill

IMO, stay away from the one put out by them. Very superficial and limited. Should have known better when they sold it at half price or less.

Amazon has two Affinity Photo books listed. Affinity Photo Manual version 2 published December 2022, and Affinity Photo Guide version 2 published January 2023. I have no experience with either book so I have no opinion on them. I’m just letting know they are available.

I bought this book from Amazon. It's available for Kindle or as a paperback. I have not used it much yet but the samples I have read are well wriitten and easy to understand.

Thank you Rangel, for the thoughts. I've purchased that, and it sits on my back shelf. There was nothing in there that I didn't already know. But thanks again.

Thanks,
I bought mine direct from affinity. Now it is for their first version, but I have no intention to upgrade.

I have Affinity 1 - and have the first Affinity book. I have not felt the need to upgrade to Affinity 2. Affinity 1 book has provided me with what I needed to know.

Affinity Photo has become my main editor. Almost all of what I have learned has been online and they have excellent videos. I am still trying to learn masks but I do not find a good video that shows me how to do it.
I agree, the book by them is a disappointment, at least it was for me and I returned it.

Delderby, like you, I have not upgraded to Affinity 2. I do not need or desire to use the additional features it has. I'll bet you'd agree with in that Affinity Photo does everything that we used to do in Photoshop, except we own the license and pay only once.

On a separate note, are you a listener to classicFM there in the UK?

Hi Elliott
Yes - For me Affinity 1 was the photographic bargain of the century, and I loved the book - readable, useful, quality and nice to have.
I listen to classicFM when driving - it seems to improve the quality of my driving. (I like "Bat out of Hell" but that encourages me to drive too fast)!
Have a great day, Del.

I hope you have a great day too. Those of us here in the States, should give them a try.

If you're still looking, this is not a book, but rather an online course of high caliber at a good price, worth considering:

Simon Foster's "Affinity Photo 2: Solid Foundations," 78 short lectures, totalling just under 15 hours in length, on sale for $9.99.

I'm not affiliated with Foster or Udemy, but have benefited from his previous courses.

I too would like a book that doesn't assume that I already know what they are talking about. I have watched some "tutorials" that may be great for people that have used it for years. But they don't seem to consider someone who is new to their program. How bout something for beginners? You don't grow your business when you discourage people.
