Flickr - it is free to those that wish to download. It is free to upload to a point. You can control it with Lightroom. It is unlimited and does not resize the images. I shoot a lot of events and will give out cards to those that pose or whatever.

Planning a trip to anywhere? Go to Flickr and type in location. Look what others have done, settings and time of the year.

If you use Nikon, look at its facility for on-line storage and distribution (

Why waste your friend's and family's time? Are you sharing images or just frustrations?

I need some ideas to store photos with the ability to send some to friends. In the past, I have stored photos on my computer transferred from the disc in the camera. If I wish to send to friends, I can only send two or three at a time because of the limitations of size of attachments on e-mail. My option is to store on a flash drive and mail it. There must be a better way. Can I store in a cloud somewhere that anyone could access .... or I could grant access. I have heard about this and I would like to know of some product names that are recommended. Thanks.

Someone here recommended WeTransfer a while ago. I’ve used it for about a year. Easy to use, 2GB free per transfer. Very happy with it. You get a link that is available for 7 days. Anyone with the link can access photos.

I put the images there in a folder, get a link that can be sent to people for them to view.
I remove them after X amount of time has passed.

5 GB? Is anything that small? My smallest SD card is 32

I confirm that this works very well, but it's not a storage solution. Amazon photos gives unlimited storage for Prime members at no additional charge.

Amazon photos is fine for photos but you really should have a system for storage of everything, not just photos. And I don’t think Amazon photos stores raw format files.

If you’re only concerned with sharing it’s a solution.

Amazon stores RAW and does not compress files at all. It's main weakness is the search function. I wish we could create storage trees like computer file systems. But you can definitely store everything.

Probably not those but I thought we were talking about photos, not docs. Docs don't take up a lot of space. For those you can use any free service like One Drive or Google Drive. It's when you add photos to those services that you use so much space it ends up costing money. If you want to be able to put big picture files without compression and you are already a Prime member then Amazon Photos is the best deal in town.

Yes the subject was photos but when talking about cloud storage I think everything should be included.

For many years I upload my photos to my online site at www.smugmug.com. I subscribe to their service and I can upload an unlimited number of images of any size. They allowed me to have my own domain name for my site. When I want to share a single image or a whole gallery with a hundred images, I send a link to my friends and they can download images to their hard drives. As for casual visitors to this site, my images are protected and can't be stolen. However, there is an option in your account that allows you to sell your images.
I strongly recommend this site.
