Beautiful images. The higher viewpoint certainly adds interest and drama to the scene. There are many times I’ve yearned for a higher viewpoint for a landscape shot - maybe it’s time for a drone for me.

Try it, Stan. You will love the perspectives you'll get. And they are really fun to fly.

I just read something the other day about new rules for Drones. I thought I saved it in my bookmarks, but I can't find it. It might of been about the new update near the top of this page.

I have studied the rules fairly carefully. Also, I always ask when there are people around if they have any objections to me flying and recording while they are present. I've had no issues so far.

I think the article I read had rules about keeping the Drone in site unless you had a certain certificate. I remember a diagram of how far you could go if you didn't have that certificate. I started to get a Drone long time ago, but I figured the Government was going to make it a pain with all of their interference. Any more they ruin every thing they touch.

Thanks, Mark. I'll be posting more as I work my way up the learning curve.

Yes, they do ruin everything. They let a few whiners rule the roost. Flying out of sight is against the law. I find that most of my flying is within view, anyway. I will fly out of sight in areas where there are no people and it's wide open territory. I suppose it's like going 5 mph over the speed limit. There are limits on how high you can fly, too. Those I better understand as one would not want to cause an air disaster.

Thanks, Tim. I am happy with Auto so far. There will be times I want to use manual, though. I only shoot in manual mode with my D850. I don't think that will be the case with my drone.
