Great shots. I've done a similar thing when we arrived to NY on a Queen Mary 2. Did you hear that they now have a Queen Ann?

Due to launch in 2024, slightly larger than Victoria and Elizabeth and all built as cruise liners not an ocean liner as the QM2 which will remain the largest in the fleet. We so enjoyed our recent transatlantic trip we are planning to sail QM2 at the end of September to New England and Canada.

On one of our trips to London (which we flew 'to' but took QM2 on the return), we met a wonderful lady how had family here in the US, but she lived in London. She did not like flying, sooo, she always used the QM2 for both directions. Not a bad idea, huh?

Ok for some! We had a little bad weather over the first two days that I am not to sure I would want to cross twice in one go which some book a 14 day return, without a break.

We have used the QM2 four times. Only once was there a day of rough sea. At lunch, we ran into a mother and child who were fighting sea sickness, but they did not bring any Dramamine. We always have, but never used any. Needless to say, we offered some to the mother and child. This may sound strange, but we welcome the 'bumpy ride'. And while mid-ship is the most calm location, we intentionally asked for 'forward', just to help enhance the pleasure of a movement ride. Strange, huh?

Unfortunately I have always had issues with my balance, but a quick $100 shot by one of the nurses on my butt solved the issue. Additionally, we were in the front on Deck 13 where the Club Balcony staterooms are.

When you were onboard, did they require you to wear jacket to dinner? Perhaps jacket and tie? To also include when out-and-about in the evening?

No, although I wore a suit and tie for most of the dinners, plus a monkey suit for the two galas. My wife and I both enjoyed the dress formality because although we are fortunate to travel out of the USA extensively, we rarely "dress up" for dinner when we are away. The requirement is that men wear a collared shirt and trousers; no shorts unless one was using the Kings Court buffet. I wore casual during the day, including jeans on a couple of occasions. For meals in the Main Dining Room (MDM) many just dressed smartly with polo shirt and trousers. It is nowhere near as "snobby" as it purportedly used to be. Everybody was friendly and IMHO a great vacation for anyone. We consequently booked a New England/Canada sailing at the end of September on the same ship.
