The Cobra is one of my favorites too. As I recall when it came out the price was around $4500.00. Of course that was price from a long time ago but still a hell of a good deal especially considering the price of one now.

Not a problem, Dennis, the price of a new Cobra back in the early 60s was about the price you quoted, I wasn't really crazy about the car until it evolved into the 427, then I was in love. Back then, before the 427 Cobra I really liked the Jag XKE better.

The XKE was/still is an awesome automobile. I was privileged when I was 15 1/2 in upstate NY to have a favorite uncle come visit. He was driving an older Jaguar XK140 as I recall. He came at the beginning of the summer and asked if I wanted to go from above NYC back to where I was born/he still lived, 80 miles South of Buffalo. I said yes. On the way about an hour he said he was tired of driving and asked if I wanted to drive the Jaguar. DID I, I replied. I drove very carefully the rest of the way. That was in the early 60's. He died a couple of months ago. Before that he had left me a HUGE amount of his camera equipment including an older 1939 German Diax camera, a new light meter I still have not figured out yet, and 2 4X5 Field cameras. I really need to get out and use them.
