Oh what a mess- at least it seems that way now. My passwords were incorrect so I corrected that to be able to get on Adobe. Then I did download Adobe Cloud on my new computer but the installation failed several times. Then I read the codes for the install fail (code 1) but have not been able to correct it. It might be because I already have 2 active accounts on the laptop and old computer but I did not get anything that specifically said that or asked me to choose which 2 out of the three computers to activate to.
Also for some reason my 400 GB of pictures did not appear to migrate to the new computer or at least I can't find any pictures on the computer except for my iPhone ones.
It's all a mystery to me.
It's clear I will need to do a chat with Apple and Adobe.
Thanks for your help

Hi, first don’t delete any folders with data on your old computer. Do you still have the folder where the 400 go of photos on the old computer? That should be the folder you point your imports too. Make copy of that folder best bet is copy it to an external drive. Once copied you can have your Lightroom catalog sync up with the external drive.usually your catalog will be found in the pictures folder it is a folder with the .lcat extension. Good luck. I always save copy of my edited photos on a separate drive outside the catalog so I always have a finished photo as a JPEG, TIFF OR PSD. that way I know where my good photos are.

I found the pictures and they did migrate to the new computer. One less issue! And I did back them up again on external drive before I started to do anything with the new computer just in case things went south. I don't use LR- only Bridge for organization and Camera Raw and PS. Thanks for your suggestions.

Bridge is a good choice, the catalog throws so many people, so sounds like your kinda set. Have a nice evening

If you ever have trouble transferring items from one computer to another you can always use a USB cable between computers and transfer your files this way. You can also transfer programs this way also.

Problems resolved. All of my pics loaded and I was able to install and use Adobe Creative Cloud. I don't use LR although I did browse the article you linked- thanks. I worked with Adobe via chat until we got disconnected. Then I looked at Launch Pad on the computer and I noticed that underneath the icon of Creative Cloud there was a note that said that Rosetta needed to be installed before Creative Cloud would install- "Click here". I never saw that on previous computers so I was a bit wary-Something about an intel chip/Apple chip was incompatible. So I downloaded Rosetta and then was able to install my Creative Cloud suite without any issues. The computer flies like an eagle :) I tell you this because I thought you might be interested as you are so helpful to so many on this site. Thanks.

You are welcome! I'm so glad you got it working. Rosetta is simply an Intel-to-Apple-Silicon translation system that enables old code written for Intel processors to run on Apple's new hardware. Some of Adobe's stuff is still Intel-only code.

If you had ANY old Intel Mac, the new chips just scorch it.

This might help.

https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/activate-deactivate-products.html

It's a nuisance having to deactivate on one machine to install on another.

Don't think I have a license number since I don't own the Adobe products- paying monthly payment to use. Thanks

Chat with Adobe. They can employ a remote connection and do the installation. Open Creative Cloud and click on "Help".

Hi Mark- all is resolved. I did chat with Adobe but we got disconnected early on. I remember when they did just what you said but this time all they did was refer me to page after page in their manual. It might be because it was on the weekend and the alternate help crew was on duty. Thanks.

Sign in to your Adobe account. There is a place there for you to take a computer off your account and add the new computer.
