If you want silent the Canon R5 and the R6 don't make any noise unless you want them to beep. Of course they are mirrorless. I have no problem with the EV's on them. The older EV's did suck though

Not all ā€˜innovationā€™ is desirable.

A modern Mirrorless, such as a Z9 which also has a completely electronic shutter, makes less noise than my breathing and I couldn't be happier with the EVF. For most, but not all, uses I have some artificial sound turned on so that my brain can confirm shots were actually taken. When needed, such as Golf or Disc Golf, that absolute silent running is a godsend! I can only remember the days when my D5 and D6 annoyed everyone. Best of luck.

News flash all other mirrorless cameras have silent electronic shutters as well as numerous DSLRs.
Those with mechanical shutters though as well usually have a much faster flash synch than the Z9/Z8.

Let your MILCs, not your DSLRs, create your future success.

I have a Canon 5D and a 1Dx. Both of them have a "quiet mode" in which the shutter sound is muted. I tried it. It's so quiet I couldn't tell if I actually took a picture or not!

There are exceptions.

Pentax still makes DSLRs and is finding ways to give them the capabilities normally associated with ā€œmirrorlessā€ cameras; they actually had IBIS before the ā€˜mirrorlessā€™ cameras did. Now Pentax has a ā€˜Film Projectā€™ which studying resurrecting film cameras, giving them some of the capabilities which have been developed for DSLRs in recent years. These are not easy projects - they are true R&D - but it is false to believe that new developments are happening only for MILC.
