Looks like that was shot in the area of the old Cement Plant. Dundee Cement? Heron Cement? My memory is letting me down. š

Your memory is pretty good. In 1919 it started out as the Petoskey Portland Cement Company and when it closed operation in 1981 it was known as the Penn-Dixie Cement Company. Not sure what it might have been in between.
In 1993 the largest reclamation project in North America turned five miles of shoreline of chromium brick, asbestos, coal & 2.5 million yards of kiln dust into a four-season luxury home community with a world-class deep water harbor, and 27 hole golf club.
And one of the best car shows in Michigan.
We had a ready mix concrete plant in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the U.P. We occasionally got down there to pick up cement, before other cement companies increased capacity in Green Bay and Superior Wisconsin. Iād sure like to tour some of the homes they built in the old quarry! Although beautiful, old cars are not my thing. I liked the Barkley Steam powered equipment.
