A few weeks ago I traveled to Mexico and Costa Rica. The first place was chosen by my American daughter because she has a shared property in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and it was the halfway point (more or less) to unite part of the family from Uruguay, the United States and Canada. In total we were ten, 3 from the United States, 4 from Canada and 3 from Uruguay. The idea was to spend a week enjoying together at the resort. And we did, but airfare from Uruguay is expensive and I decided to extend our visit to another Central American country. The choice finally came down to Costa Rica. Of course in Playa del Carmen what you have are beautiful beaches but we did some excursions to Chichén Itzá, Tulum and some Cenotes. After that, my wife, my Uruguayan granddaughter, and I flew to Costa Rica where our goal was to rent a car to travel from San José to the north of the country to see more closely the jungle, waterfalls, and volcanoes, return by the Pacific coast to Manuel Antonio Park and return to San José. By chance my trip to Costa Rica coincided with Vicksart's (Vicky) trip to that country, so some of my photos will be a second edition. As part of my experience on the roads in Costa Rica, I say that the main roads are good and well designed, but some roads in the north of the country are extremely bad and you need a big vehicle with big tires to overcome the crossing.
