I registered my Z8 for the lug recall on 8/9, and I just received an email (8/14) with the shipping label. I'm receiving UPS orders today and tomorrow, so it will go out soon.
It's going out today using the same box and packing material that Nikon used to return it to me. Convenient.
Keep us informed but do be cautious of mentioning details, such as The Label. Were all on the edge of our seats. Dont know if some of the older Hawgsters could survive the stress. Perhaps you should reconsider your risky behavior
in publicizing this drama.
Hope you experience a speedy turn-around. In our case, my wife bought th Z-8 to use on a trip to Alaska to photograph coastal brown bears, but the converter to use her older lenses was very tight, both putting on and removing, and her body was one that was recalled. Naturally, the camera arrived the afternoon of the day we left on a morning flight. Now we learn that the same body has been recalled for anchor lugs, and on August 20 we go to Africa photo safari. The choice is return the camera and not use it in Africa or take it. Since we have not received any formal notice, we are taking it, but Nikon is not another word for service! My wife is tempted to return the darn thing for a full refund!

Year, I thought about that, but all the people on UHH are such a wonderful, supportive people that I'm sure no one harbors any nefarious thoughts. "Where seldom is heard a discouraging word..."
I thought it would be interesting for other Z8n owners to hear about the timing of recall events.

I know you will take care in mounting lenses. Just make sure that you have any strap connected to the bottom tripod mount at the least.--do not rely on dual eyelet/lug strap mounting only. And....have a great time!!!!

When I sent mine for the lens mount, I don't recall receiving and further emails. It just showed up at my door a week later. I used the same packaging that Nikon used to send it to me after the repair. The UPS driver took it yesterday.
Thanks, and seems that we always have a good time, however, we generally use beanbags and don't take tripods.

Better yet. Use a strap that allows you to connect to the tripod mount.

It takes a lot of beanbags to get a camera five feet off the ground!
