Remember when a sideview mirror was an extra-cost option? It looks like that might soon be applying to paint, as well. If you want a Jeep in any color but white, it will cost you $495. The Chevy Colorado costs $400 - $500 more if you want yellow, blue, or red paint.

"And would like seats in your truck, sir?" "Will two wheels be enough, or would you prefer then Full Highway Package?" 😁

That's a good price for choice of paint.

Wish they used good paint on cars these days. It blisters after a few years. The paint on 1950s cars often looks fine.

No, it isn't. A little pigment is the only cost above white.

When I was painting cars, a gallon of one color would cost a bit more than a gallon of another, but it was never a huge difference.

495.00 is cheap compared to Tesla, for Tesla any color other then black is a 1000.00 dollars.

The Manfactures is going with one choice and if you want another you will have to pay for it.

When Henry Ford was making cars the only color option was your basic black color

I heard that Ford like black because it dried fast.

Charging for paint! Amazing. If they can charge $500 for a key, I guess they can charge $500 for paint.

I think it was Henry Ford that said you can have any color you want as long as it's black.
AC was an after market item on my 1974 BMW 2002.

Have you priced out paint to do a complete quality paint job of a car?

Porsche would actually paint the car to a sample you provided (and the car arrived with a quart of matching paint in the trunk) for a price.

Worse when you have to pay a rental to use a feature already in car, understand BMW does it with heated seats in some models, GMC WITH wifi, it will keep growing, rental fees

There have been quite a few lawsuits over that, so the trend might not continue. It's the trend toward buying but not owning, unfortunately.
