I'll guess you don't do any genealogy work.

I'd like to see some of those programs interpret some nasty handwriting of old.

Translating "printed words" is a piece of cake. Can they do script? Poorly written script?

Getting better all the time! Apple’s Freeform app is really good at it.

My father bought a hardware store from a guy who retired. I found some letterhead from the old business. The phone number was 2.

At least he had at least one other phone to talk to.

I was born towards the end of 1944. When I was two we apparently moved to a house in Toley Avenue, Preston Road, Wembley (Outer London). I can still remember the telephone number: Arnold 1610. It much later became 904-1610.

One reason this country is the way it is… the younger generation is unable to read the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution

They have not been required to do so in school. Educated Americans are not useful to deviant politicians.

In many states, especially here in the South, the "prevailing wisdom" is to, "Keep them down on the farm, barefoot, pregnant, ignorant, and stupid." It's why our schools are so bad, and our kids don't have a clue. If they HAD a clue, they wouldn't vote for deviant politicians of any party. They would vote for genuinely caring, well-educated, humanely sensitive people who give a hoot. In other words, people would vote for sane candidates that are not bought off by the elites.

They have not been required to do so in school. Ed... (show quote)

Unfortunately voting for deviant Politicians is not limited to the kids nor is the lack of understanding of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution age-related. Today, truth no longer matters, greed has become a virtue, and critical thinking is a dying art. In the 1980s Steve Allen (The entertainer/comedian) wrote a book titled "Dumbth" in which he noted and documented the trend of the dumbing down of America. If you want to establish and maintain control you need dumbed down and uneducated citizens. Your assessment is right but it is not just limited to the kids.

I've got the millennial anti-theft device in two of our cars: a manual transmission.
