A palindrome reads the same backwards and forwards - that one reads differently.

I don't get it. Dog is a palidrome for god and devil is lived backwards so "god lived" reversed looks like
"devil dog" to me. What am I missing?

According to the definition here "dog" is not a palindrome for "god" as it doesn't read the same backward as it does forward. But "god lived" looks to be a palindrome for "devil dog" to me.

This discussion is getting heavy. What we have here is an Semordnilap! LOL
What is a Semordnilap?
A palindrome is a word or phrase that is the same forwards and backwards, but a semordnilap ("palindromes" backwards) is a word that becomes a different word when read backwards. Get it, smug/gums? stop/pots god/dog swap/paws desserts/stressed These are also known as a Levidrome. Enough with the "NERD" talk. Google the words if it still does not make sense.
