While waiting for some squirrels to appear, I was walking around and discovered these. They looked interesting, so while I have little experience with this type of photography, I thought I would try since I am playing with this new camera.

The next day I returned to my spot to try these again, and they were gone! I doubt lawn care cut them out, and I can't imagine anyone picking them. Could my neighborhood squirrels have had a feast? It's too public for the deer.

Does this seem strange?

Nice image
Not strange at all between the hot weather and possible exposure to direct sunlight , and animals feeding on them, it's best to get all the shots you want when you see the mushrooms.

Very nice pic! Mushrooms often disappear quickly, at least some varieties do.

Nice shot of the fungi. Where did they go? Only The Shadow knows.

Mushroom ID app suggests these are ringless honey mushroom, gilled with white spore print. These do not disappear quickly so most likely someone harvested them for dinner.

I've seen squirrels eat some around our house.

Thanks for the compliment. Never saw a big group like this. So will get all the practice in now should I see some again.

Thanks for the information! I knew they had an app for birds and flowers and such; never thought of one for mushrooms! Well, with the price of mushrooms, these were a real bargain!
