A couple of week ago I noticed an all too familiar. noise coming from under the hood of my 1999 Ford Explorer, Idler pulley bearings!! I raised to hood and yep bearing noise, shut engine off proceeded to check for a loose pulley , bingo the tensioner pulley was loose and the plastic fan hub was cracked in 4 or5 places,I checked with local stores, the parts had to be ordered in and were way more than I wanted to spend, I mean I drove the car 2000 miles last two years, but I use it for pulling a trailer and heavy stuff that won't fit in my Caravan.
Enter RockAuto.com: I have made a few purchases over the last 4 years and been happy with the service and quality of the parts, so I placed an order for a tensioner, belt and pulley kit a fan blade and clutch , the parts were all listed for my car!! the parts arrived a few days later and off to my Son in-laws Shop to get out of the heat, I removed the shroud, fan/clutch assy. and replaced all the idler pulleys and belt, Now the fun begins!!
The OEM ford blade will not fit the clutch, uttered a few four letter words closed the shop up and drove the Explorer back home without a fan blade, one mile!!
Get on RA's site and check to see if I screwed up : Four fan clutches listed to fit my engine all the same just different prices, two fan blades listed one Ford and one aftermarket
Checked for a contact# NONE listed
Checked the return page No place to explain my problem
Call the corporate office # they don't have a customer service #
posted a Customer review of 5 stars for product quality and one star each for the rest of the questions
Listed my order#'s to prove I was a customer!!
This morning I checked some of the 55K plus 5 Star reviews and found nothing lower than 4 stars
And surprise, surprise My review was not posted.
I was able to get a fan and clutch assembly from Auto zone !! But now I'm stuck with parts I cannot use/
Good morning. If you paid using a credit card, then contact the card's customer service. The card company can reverse the charge and credit your account. I speak from experience. Let us know how it goes.

yep, but I did have a choice of one of the kids cars to get home.
Frank - dispute the charge with your credit card company. They should take care of it for you.

Thanks for the heads up Frank. Hopefully you can get the charges reversed on you credit card. I don't blame you for being ANGRY! Lucky you were close to home and nothing more happened. Hang in there!
Frank. Through the years, I've purchased parts from Rock Auto many times. I have two old Jaguars (69 XKE, 94 XJS) and an old Chevy Silverado that occasionally need parts.
Unless they have changed, Rock Auto has a very generous return policy.

Thank you Jim
Really no luck involved, I always make sure I can get back home when working at the shop.
Just aggravating !!

Hi, I have used Rock Auto for several years without a problem including returning parts and cores; the return period has been 30 days. Are you past the 30 day return?
