I was not familiar with this instrument and, personally, I don't like the sound.

I agree -- it sounds like a juice harp meets a violin! While the sound is interesting, it isn't particularly enjoyable. I would like to hear a bagpipe more!

A classic for Sci Fi movies. I need to make one - it isn’t hard.

I have a few Clara Rockmore Recordings. She is excellent. My aunt was 1st violinist in the Detroit Symphony many decades ago. She and Clara sound very similar when playing certain pieces.

The Theremin is my ringtone, and opening and closing music for Midsomer Murders. I appreciate the 'music' the theremin makes, but I don't own any theremin music!

I was an early fan of electronic music.
If memory serves me right, the Theremin's first major movie appearance was in the soundtrack of "Forbidden Planet".
As stated above "The Beach Boys - "Good Vibrations".
Here is a video of Celia Sheen playing the theme of Midsomer Murders on Theremin

I didn't hear that in the Beach Boy's song. As for Celia Sheen, not my kind of music!
