It was great to get away - fog and all only a couple downpours and they didn't interrupt much. Some pix from Camden, Maine. Camden was a shipbuilding and commercial port in years past. Many homes are palatial and the sights spectacular. It remains a very popular tourist destination - or pass through on the way to Acadia National Park. The famous (or "infamous") Rte 1 passes through it. One can travel Rte 1 from the tip of Maine through to Florida.

Beautiful captures of Camden harbor in the fog. I love the second photo.

This is both wonderful and sad. They say the best camera you have is the one you have with you. I beg to disagree. My SLR/DSLR/Mirrorless cameras beat my almost brand new iPhone every time. The iPhone is good though, just it's own tool.

I agree with the saying. I almost always have my iPhone with me, but I carry my DSLR only when I plan to take a photo. Using ‘standard range’, my iPhone takes reasonably good photos, but my DSLR takes lousy photos when I don’t happen to have it with me. I saw an interesting {to me} scene when I went downtown on an errand, but had no camera at all with me. I have gone downtown since then - intentionally taking a camera with me - but have never seen that scene since then.

Our first trip to Alaska. Whale watching, totem sites, stampeders trek up Skagway. Just a few of the shots. Critique is always welcome as I always want to get better.

There is a "Critique" section on the forum to which you can submit images. Your last shot is clear and is an "Alaska Story" . See PM

I know this is not a great photograph (hand-held at 600mm) but it is nice to see a young person with a real camera.

I love it when a photo tells a story. Intriguing shot!
