When we started international traveling I had everyone in my department use the 28JUN23 format. Long into retirement I still do.
I began using it in the military, where it was standard. Just kept on using it for the 50+ years thereafter. I've lost track of how much ink I've saved not writing commas . . .
I hate it when I go to a store and after I have paid and about to leave the cashier says," have a good one. I tell them ," I do. I just don't use it as often as I would like to."I then point at my wrist and tell them, " my new Rolex.see I don't have it."or I will tell them."are you asking me or telling me." Why the hell can't people ( women in general) say something like, " have a good day." By shortening it by one word the phrase has a totally different meaning.
