I just have to be a PINTA… the “fastest airplane” needs a qualifier… usually just add AIRBREATHING. Some insist that it be stated as “ manned airbreathing jet engine aircraft”. While it is nit-picking to someone… just saying fastest airplane does not give due deference to aircraft which were faster but not AIRBREATHING.
