If so, then a careful reader will try to sort the variety of difference in motivation and outcome, in order to detect racism and racist actions.

After all, other, similar behaviors exist: bias, prejudice, discrimination, bigotry, hatefulness, and so on. How may the fineness of difference among these actions produce a clarity as to the involvement of racism and racist action? This intellectual chore the ones who use these terms avoid for good reason: This chore will present an onerous challenge which they cannot or will not undertake.

In fact, those individuals who accuse others of racism fail the first step: They do not name which race(s) they mean.

As bad if not worse, they may instead rely on doctrines like Critical Race Theory which at bottom divides black folk and the dominant white society. This approach snares all black folk in one camp against all others, but in particular against white folk as the chief offender.

When Diversity Officers are assuring that lesbian black women, the wheelchair bound, and 5’2 potbelly Jews with a 9 inch vertical jump are mandated to play on NBA, then we can have an objective metric to determine if the product, the revenue, and the sustainability of a business founded on competence is positively or negatively impacted by demanding diversity over competence. ( Or does it not rankle diversity-philes to see a league 87% black in a nation only 13% black?)

Not many are against diversity. It’s when the diversity is achieved for one group at the expense of another morphing into racism. Do 4.0 Asians who almost ace the SATs and can’t get the college choices they desire because they are displaced by students less qualified in the name of diversity ring a bell? You should have finished you sentence re: incarceration rates. 6% (males) not 13% (total) commit over 50% of all murders/attempt murders and armed robberies. Only logical they would represent a disproportionate number compared to population but maybe not so disproportionate when compared to total serious crimes committed. Easy to throw up a lefty talking point to mislead.

…And meritocracy is an impediment that shouldn’t get in the way of benefiting one group at the expense of another, right? I’ll take meritocracy in sports, brain surgeons and airline pilots all day.
