It's fun playing with different software. This is the first time I've used Mixbook to make a photo book. At first, I made all the pictures 1500px on the long side and uploaded them. 1500px is my go-to size for saving images, but it's too small for an 8.5 X 11" book. When I put them on the page, I got a warning that they should be larger, so I doubled the size of all forty-three pics to 3000px.
It took hours to upload the 1500px shots yesterday, and it's taking even longer to upload images that are twice as large. My upload speed is 0.6. Download is 856. I shut down at about 91% last night, and it's at 93% now after an hour and a half, with an estimated hour left.
We're making a hardcover book with lay-flat pages for $50, although they offered a 50% discount. I hope that works.
How many photos did you upload? I wonder if the website is limited because your download speed sounds very fast. Have you done a speed test?
I did two photo books on Shutterfly yesterday using full size images from my R5. To upload around 80 photos took a couple minutes. I'm on AT&T fiber.

Forty-three uploading. Fiber optic is great, but we don't have it in this area. I've done several speed tests - all about the same. I'm using Cat 6 cable. I'm going to connect the computer directly to the modem and try it again.

You need to address the upload speed. As I mentioned in a previous post, have you benchmarked it directly from the modem using an Ap such as Ookla Speedtest? If it’s slow there, the issue is with the modem/spectrum. If not, the problem is with your router/network. If you’re going to do much uploading, it’s worthwhile to spend a couple of minutes to perform this simple test. From what you mentioned of your Spectrum plan, your upload speed should be at least 10Mb/sec - almost 20times what you’re getting. Let us know what you find out…

I just got back home. I'm going to shut down the computer, pull it out of its cubby, and connect a shorter cable - to the modem.

Nothing. It wouldn't find the network - naturally, since it wasn't connected to the network. 375 up, 0.16 down. I'll call Spectrum.

Last year I did a wedding album using MixBook. It came out beautiful!
The first print came out too dark. They reprinted it for me for free.

Right answer - they may be able to troubleshoot and remedy the issue remotely.

Jerry: upload speed sounds dreadful! Perhaps try at night when load is lighter ? If not, perhaps you can find somewhere nearby/intown with decent wifi (library ? commercial office of friend ?). Definitely use test software like Speedtest to verify upload speed.

Getting tech support from Spectrum is a skill that very few have learned. They have "robots" answering their phones. When I finally spoke to a human yesterday about reducing my cable bill, he was in the "Retention Center." I had a bad connection to room with lots of people talking at the same time. The man had a heavy southern accent, spoke fast, and kept putting me on hold. His final solution was the Essential TV package for $104/month. It didn't include any broadcast stations - ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. The $80 Internet charge would probably be added to that. His main concern was getting me to add Spectrum mobile.

That sounds like an oxymoron - "heavy southern accent, spoke fast". Usually they are slow, but some have adopted the Yankee speed demon on speech. I'm in Atlanta and most are average speaking but if you get in South Georgia, it is like another world down there.
My mother is on Spectrum and her internet and cable bill is atrocious. I set her up with Roku and pay for Hulu and Netflix for her, but she insists on keeping the cable package. I think her bill is over $220 today. I cannot convince her that all she likes is on streaming today. It would cut out $140 or more of her monthly bill. Their mortgage when they bought the house over 50 years ago was less than $50 a month. My dad is probably turning over in his grave.

I think they are encouraged to get lots of positive results every hour, so speed-talking helps them accomplish that.

Doesn’t sound like much of a deal. Spectrum is really pushing their cellphone service right now. The day rarely goes by without an email offering me a deal on cellphone service. Given their record of constantly escalating prices with no enhancement in service and no warning, they’re the last company I would use. I use them for Internet only because there isn’t a better option yet.
BTW, have they fixed your upload speed issue yet?
Cheers,
Chris

Over the past seven years, I've averaged $15/month with TracFone.
No progress with upload.
