Self-doubt can be an ally. It can serve as an indicator of the need for a new camera.

Say this inconsidered, rude and laughable remark when you learn to speak Greek.

Zero intentions to learn Greek. Other than maybe biblical research, what for ?

I declared plainly, my only concern sre models of any kind after 2020 and cost of $800 or less. I do not care for anything else.

Do let us all know just how that works out for you.

I had this same discussion with a photographer friend last evening after spending a day out shooting together. We used a number of cameras, D850, z9, D500, z50. Our results, the professional was able to get amazing results. Mine with same cameras, same subjects, were less thrilling. Just different results in same settings. The pros will sell. Mine will make me happy, but no one will be beating down my door.

Looks like a Win-Win! Doesn't need to get better than that,

Photography is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you have to buy better equipment.

Haven't yet used all the D750 can do, recently been shooting with the D200 that I'd ignored for the 3 years since I bought it for $35. Didn't know how good the 10mp CCD sensor was until I noticed the raves about it on Youtube. When I shoot it in RAW, it is actually 15mp. Sometimes, GAS can be retro...

How about a pinhole camera with a bottle stuck on the front?
If you ain't got it you can't flaunt it!

Definitely. I'm not ashamed to say that I am not an expert user of everything I own. I'm okay with a pencil - pointy end for writing, blunt end for erasing. Got it.

The "problem" is that modern devices can do so much that few people can use all the features to the fullest. That raises the question: Is it necessary to use all the features to the fullest? My cameras can to interval shooting, but I don't have much need for that.

I just bought Steve Perry's book about Nikon Z focus. It has 630 pages! I don't intend to become a master of Z focusing, but his book will certainly help me.

Yea, I don't uses everything my camera can do,
and DEFINITELY not everything my editors can do.
I don't need to use stuff simply because it exists.

This is not necessarily a total surprise, but by itself does not address the reasson your friend's results were better. While it could have been that he simply knows and understands the principles of photography better than you currently do. But it could also be that he is more comfortable with those complex cameras and knows and understands how to use their capabilities than you currently do.

It's not clear whether you were seeking to support or refute Wallen's contention. I am fortunate to have very capable cameras capable of doing things that I can only dream about with my D200, a camera which I still love and use). But without learning AND PROPERLY USING those new features, pictures from the new cameras are remarkably similar to those from the D200.
