This morning, June 6th. Canon has released new firmware that incorporates support for the about to be released Canon EL-5 smart flash and also some minor bug fixes. It is now available on the Canon US support site.

Just a minor correction. The new firmware is 1.3.1 and it was released on 5/31/23 (canon us site).
Release 1.3.0 was release on 3/2/23. I do appriciate the heads up. i like to keep my camera current.

I navigated to the Canon US Support site and searched for Canon EOS R7 firmware. The newest listed was Ver. 1.3.0. Then I did a Google search for Canon EOS R7 firmware Ver. 1.3.1 and found it. I don't understand why Canon doesn't show ot in their normal Software and Firmware support page.

After you look at the first few offerings when you click on firmware, I had to click load more and 1.3.1 windows was a few more down. That happened to me on a past update on R7 or R5. HTH.

I finally found it. I needed to click the "Load More" button". Strange, it recommended the 1.3.0 which I had but put the 1.3.1 way down.
