Learning From The Masters

The lodge I belong to has a regular third Saturday breakfast that I try to attend if possible. Walked in this morning and saw some of the brethren involved in a battle of wits and thought I'd get a shot of it!

Looks like one of our brothers is getting a bit of knowledge from some of the Masters!

Nice shot! But how in the world did the white pawn get all the way to E6 without black making moves?

A nice one, Nyal. But looking at the facial expressions, I wonder if maybe they're about to jump on a kibitzer.

The rule of en passant, white has made three moves black has made two, that is probably what they are talking about.

And yet, all of black's pieces are on their original squares.

The space in front of the white pawn is empty.

Sorry, I know little to nothing about the game!
What I do know is they can make a move then spend 20 minutes talking about why they made the move!

Seems like I've heard them use that term before.
