Well it looks like I am first in line for the D300s manual. I can send you a Money order or cash Tuesday morning since Monday is a holiday. Just let me know what works for you the best and I do appreciate you offering these to us.
Sincerely;
Bruce.

It's yours, Bruce. Send whichever you prefer, as it's only to reimburse for shipping. I've been cutting back on years of photo stuff, since at 80 it is time to divest, and I have swapped my Nikon DSLRs for Nikon Z to cut down on weight. I'm finding that there is often little purchase interest in used photo accessories and books.

Hey bro, thank you for the reply. Me too on cutting back. I am pushing 72 and sold off all I can and still working on what is left. It is a head scratching on how much stuff we accumulate over the years. I just emptied out a storage building after years of working on things that got me nowhere today. I got this D300s last year and going through the learning process as compared to the D200 I broke. A major difference in the senor and it's processing compared to the D200 which I really miss. The new breed of mirror less are really a good option for weight considerations plus all the new techno stuff in them. Did you have or still have a D300?
I will get you the 5 in mail this weekend and I know it will help me.
Thank you again for offering these to us.
Peace and Gods blessing to you and your family.
Bruce.

Actually, I owned a D200 when they first came out and used that for a few years along with a couple other Nikons at the time. Never owned a D300, but picked up the D300S Manual at a NC Borders bookshop that was closing, thinking I might one day pick up a D300S. It never came to be.

Thanks for your good wishes and I send the same back to you.

Thanks to all who responded. Please be advised that Media Mail (books, manuscripts, media discs etc.) will probably take 5-7 days to deliver. The price one pays for being the least expensive mailing cost.

Well the D300s is what it is. I it takes good pictures and so it is 'old' but so what it still is good.

"Well the D300s is what it is. I it takes good pictures..." Bruce I totally agree...
I current use a Nikon D300s to test studio lighting setups. It has the same "Nikon Pro Interface as my D3x and D800e.
Actually it is vastly superior to my Nikon D3x in regard to instantaneous access to LiveView.
With the D3x you have to jump through two hoops to enter LiveView. With the D300s a single button press and you're there.

Since I typically work in the Basement ISO of 100 the D300s's dynamic range is entirely usable... albeit above ISO 400 not so much... That said in the studio I have virtually unlimited illumination power, I can crank out perfect exposures at f/22 even up to f/32.

btw I have a Jackson Unit ($20 Federal Reserve Note) with your name on it if you discover any way to "Lock" the shutter speed in Manual at 1/250 (max sync speed). It is the D300s Achilles heel which criples it for actually commercial studio work. So EZ to hit the Main Command Dial and reset this during a photoshoot. I can lock all my other pro bodies at 1/250 except the D300s (yes I have the firmware update a.k.a. D300S A to ver 1.02 and B firmware to ver.1.02) but still haven't found a solution.

How good is the Nikon D300s? Posted below is the result of a series of lighting test with a rather rare Yongnuo AF 50mm f/1.4E; which is the cat's mellow... much higher acuity than Nikon's AF 50mm f/1.4D And this Yongnuo AF 50mm f/1.4E has an electromagnetic diaphragm i.e. no mechanic linkage... it's continuous and smooth.

Hope this helps you appreciate your epic D300s which is an awesome tool in capable hands.
Cheers! Thomas

Thomas;
Thank you for taking time for your reply. I always enjoy and learn from your postings, you are indeed one of the premier members here. I bought the D300s about a couple of years ago after breaking my D200. I bought it used from the place in New York, either B&H or Adorama. I appreciate your experience with the 300, I was very happy with the 200 but the 300 is video capable but I have not really tested this since I have a Lumix DMC FZ300, got it used from one of the big stores.
The 200 was my first DSLR after my film camera back door broke, it was a Nikon N80. I used the two lens I had for it on the D200, Nikon AF28-80, a Nikon AF 70-300, plus a really nice Nikon AF VR 80-400 1:4.5-5.6D which I bought from a member here. I had used point'n shooters also for years too. The reason I got the older used D200 and D300 is because they were low in cost compared to newer models but still good enough for me. If I cannot learn and improve using Affordable, to me, then buying a newer much more expensive camera and glass is a waste. I am retired and limited with expenses so I will keep using what I have. Your experience with 300 is very encouraging. The shutter lock at 250 is new to me, I am no way a pro but this is good to know. Did you ever contact Nikon about this ?
The Field Guide should help me very much as opposed to the factory user manual.
Well I am fired up now and being Memorial day, I am going to take the 300 out do some shooting.
Take care friend and have a nice holiday.
Bruce.
