Pinckney Island is located on the intra-coastal waterway between Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, S.C. The US Fish and Wildlife Service maintains the island. No automobiles or electric vehicles are allowed. About a mile and a half from the entrance is Ibis Pond, a rookery used by many of the resident and migrating birds.
I arrived just before sunrise and hiked to the pond to take shots as the sun made its way onto the pond. I was a little late this year and the cute hatchlings were noisy teenagers.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.
