Streets empty of traffic, trains and platforms far from teeming, and flowers all over the city. But...not everyone was able to enjoy the day.
Nice shots--and the first one is excellent!
Nice. Is that third picture from inside a bus?
I haven't been in a NYC bus in decades.

And I haven't been in the Catskills since I fished the Beaver Kill when my feet looked normal.

There has been lots of construction here since then. The old resorts have closed down.
Your views of NYC are always enjoyable and informative, David.
As a college age teen, I worked at a (now defunct) hotel as a busboy, bell ringer, "tummeler's" helper (getting people on the dance floor to dance or participate in "Simon sez". Pay was an unsubstantial amt (less than a $ per hour) and my sleep quarters was a shack with a military cot. It was fun, though. One particular teen girl caught my eye and heart, but fraternization was not permitted. Oy Veh!
I love the story...kind of poignant.
Excellent pix.
