Awesome cloud formations! Those are mammatus clouds and I've always wanted to photograph them! They are a rare example of clouds in sinking air. Even though they're very ominous in appearance, mammatus clouds are harmless and do not mean that a tornado is about to form; a commonly held misconception. In fact, mammatus clouds are usually seen after the worst of a thunderstorm has passed.
Thanks for the comment and info Oregonphotog appreciate it!!

Had strong storms move thru late this afternoon. Unusual cloud formations afterwards.
I went nuts just had to share. About 2 hour time frame.
Mammatus clouds are so interesting! Very nice set.
My 55+ community art guild hangs new work every three months in our clubhouse gallery. Though there is a theme, we don't have to stick to it. I am one of three photographers in the guild, which boasts about 30 members, mostly expressing their art in water color, pastels, or acrylic. The theme for next hanging is Things in the Kitchen. I chose to do a still life, rendered in sepia, printed on a small canvas. The painting on the wall is a watercolor by one of our wonderful artists, scanned and digitally framed for this application.
