We've only driven through Monument Valley twice. The first time was a big disappointment as that was in September 1988, when there had been some big fires up near Yellowstone and the area was covered in smoke. I took a few pictures but it wasn't until our second drive through the valley in June 2009 that I got some much better shots. My wife went through it once in August 2018 with a friend who was driving to Nebraska. She only had her iPhone but still got some good pictures. It was after this trip that I bought her the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400V, that we've only taken 84 shots with.
