I'm ready to ditch Photoshop and Lightroom.

It sounds like you somehow got misdirected from Adobe to some scam artists. I've used Adobe since Photoshop was first introduced, and I've never heard of them charging for support.

One day it just stopped working i.e. When i tried to open a file after making edits, the working area of the screen turns solid white and starts flashing. I can't get any help from Adobe and user groups can't explain it.
Making the assumption that you are using the latest or a recent legit version un-install it and download it again. It does not take long to do.
Don't let the cult members dissuade you. Dump Adobe and walk away.
For a different reason, I stopped using Photoshop. Now keep in mind that I will not argue the fact that it is an excellent editing program. I first -purchased- my copy back in 2005 (I think) and paid a strong price. It was worth it. Then I purchased upgrades every other edition, usually about $150 per upgrade. Again worth it. When CS series began, I continued to purchase upgrades right up to PhotoshopCS5. As I was prepared to purchased the upgrade for CS7, I learned that it was replaced by Adobe's rental plan. Now, I won't criticize that decision. At both a computer store and a camera shop, I was so frequently angered by those who were bragging how they got their Photoshop by copying someone's program. In short, they were stealing the program. So I'm very sympathetic with Adobe for renting out the program.
Now that's my history and I still support Adobe for renting out the program. Have I done so? Absolutely not. Overall, I paid more than $1,000 in all the upgrades. What did I do? Did my homework, and found Affinity Photo. I find it to be a thorough program and very friendly. Oh, you purchase it for less than $100, and I've received upgrades that are free. I'm currently studying the program, just as I did with Photoshop. I thoroughly enjoy Affinity Photo, and highly recommend it.
I switched to CaptureOne some years back. Since the cost of the program has gone up and up. With improvements. A less costly alternative would be Affinity Photo, but I found it difficult to follow. Sadly there’s no silver bullet out there I know of.
Good article favoring Paintshop-Pro Ultra by Corel, a strong program at a one time price which allows monies for my AI Topaz plugins. Price was an important consideration in the analysis; I upgrade every two years, perhaps.
Google paintshop pro ultra compared to photoshop ...

AP is an above excellent program for the one time cost. I have version 1 since 2018. Paid $40 & did a few of the upgrades. Works great but not as good as PS but pretty close. And wouldn’t expect it to be considering the cost. I believe I would have to purchase ver 2. Probably will at some point.
Try Corel PaintShop Pro Ultimate. It may still be on sale for under $100 and you keep it forever... no subscription.

Any suggestions for replacement software?
Corel, Paint Shop Pro, I never got into Adobe products, PSP was easier for me to learn.
